Harper, an immature carrion crow, came to us in August 2016 after being found grounded and unable to fly. At admission we found an extensive haematoma around the right shoulder joint. X-rays revealed a coracoid fracture, which has been treated accordingly. Although Harper’s injury healed well, it took several months to return to full flight capability. Interestingly Harper never gave up, and made good use of our large flight aviary, which helped her to build up the necessary strength.
