Why is it morally wrong to use animals for education or entertainment?
Regardless of what kind of animals are being used for educational or entertainment purposes, be it rescued or captive bred animals, or whether they are treated well or not, even in the best case scenario there is morally seen no significant difference. The most important fact remains the same in all of these scenarios. Non of these animals had the opportunity to consent freely to what they are being used for. This degrades them from an individual sentient being to a mere object, which can be used for certain purposes as the owner sees fit, be it for work, education, entertainment or worse. From an animal rights point of view it is morally wrong to use or exploit animals in any way and we humans should not do so. From the typical animal welfare point of view it is morally acceptable for human beings to use or exploit animals, as long as the suffering of animals is either eliminated or reduced to a minimum, the latter being defined by often doubtful human standards.
